Well, hello there! An actual blog post on my site that is more than an announcement ... how wonderful? Why have I not been posting updates, you ask? Well, the answer is simple: I've been leading a busy life both personally and professionally, and it has been absolutely wonderful.

Many people take "busy" to mean that you have no free time; that it is all work. To me, "Busy" means that I am keeping active. On a personal level, it has been a crazy, crazy year. I have just added a new section to Jakiao.com! The Playlist page is the music playlist I have been coming up with for the past two months. It contains nothing but my most favorite music and is definitely not a complete list. For all songs possible, I have included a link to the Youtube video. I omitted videos for songs that only had AMV's or other stupid fan-created crap available on Youtube. ...

Here's why I've been down for the majority of 2008:

I was hosting my blog on a VPS I had hosted at BuyAVPS. I went with them because I knew their owner, and I knew she was skilled. What I didn't know was that she was selling the company. My payment for the VPS went to a PayPal subscription that went to her company, which owned BuyAVPS. When she sold, the new owners never notified me that the payment had to be changed over to them.

As of this post, Jakiao.com no longer operated under the LigHTTPd Web Server software. As of this post, Jakiao.com now runs under the LiteSpeed Web Server (Standard Edition).

LiteSpeed Web Server is make by http://www.litespeedtech.com/ as an alternative to Apache. In fact, it's completely backwards compatible with Apache (including mod_rewrite rules as I didn't have to make a single change to my .htaccess file. In fact, I made zero changes in my code to get it working with LiteSpeed WS.

Anyway, LiteSpeed seems to be very, very efficient in how it handles. A couple people have already told me that Jakiao.com loads almost instantly now as compared to earlier, which is cool.

If all goes well, we'll be installing LiteSpeed Enterprise Edition on ...
